Cooking is a process. It's a journey. A tool you get better at without noticing. You may make more appetising food after a while, but what changes is how you go around doing it, and by it I mean the whole entreprise. You begin to gain intuition you didn't know you'd have, you start understanding the chemistry of your failures and that of your little successes. You figure out which shortcuts are worth taking and which processes are better left long and agonizing.
